GENESIS OPEN SUBMISSION CALL

Cayélle Publishing has opened submissions for the following romance imprints:

• Tryst
• Celest
• Expiate
• Coulture

The author of the selected work may be honored at Cayélle’s Business Launch Brunch in the Los Angeles area. Submissions are scheduled to close on February 14, 2020 at 5pm PST but may close earlier. Authors must be citizens of the United States. Please, carefully read the submission guidelines for each imprint below before querying. Submissions incorrectly submitted will be discarded. You may find more details on the imprints at Cayelle.com.

TRYST SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Romance is an omnipresence the mind has conditioned itself to view as a standard entitlement, leaving levels unexplored and others taken for granted. Dating with and without specific goals, hidden agendas, and rebounds, are Trysts.

Uncertain but convincing romance. That’s Tryst.

Specifically, we’re seeking:

• Moderately paced stories with chapter-ending cliffhangers.
• Proven category tropes including, but not limited to, relationships of convenience, narcissist vs empath, rebounds, mail order brides, and space-fillers.
• Stories featuring heroines and the everyday, relatable man who court them without clear intentions.
• Romance must be the central plot. The couple should be together on almost every page.
• Strong conflict. This is a major deal. Why can’t people just be clear about what they want? Why can’t people know what they want? Explore the see-saw emotions and situations that impede the due course of happily ever after.
• POV should be split 50/50 between the hero and heroine. 3rd person POV is preferred. No secondary characters should have their own POV.
• The heat level should be anywhere from a simmering spark to blazing.
• Manuscripts are preferred at 45-60K words in length, but novellas of 15-40K words are accepted at this time.
• Single or series titles

CELEST SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Unspoken bonds that don’t require human explanation nor validation. Not meant to be understood, but experienced, and felt as unbelievable.

Strong, capable, intelligent heroines. Endearing protective heroes. Beyond the realm of reality romance. That’s Celest.

Specifically, we’re seeking:

• Moderately paced stories with chapter-ending cliffhangers.
• Proven category tropes
• Stories featuring extraordinary heroines and the endearing men who fall for them.
• Strong conflict. Is there a choice between humanity and the supernatural? Define and explore the decisions faced when humans and supernatural beings fall in love.
• POV should be split 50/50 between the hero and heroine. 3rd person POV is preferred, but 1^st POV is acceptable and should be strong. No secondary characters should have their own POV.
• The heat level should be anywhere from a simmering spark to blazing.
• Single title manuscripts must be 45-70K words in length.
• Series titles can be 25-45K words in length and must be complete serialized packages

EXPIATE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Destined relationships that society condemns as morally unsound or scandalous. When judgments are as plentiful as love. That’s Expiate.

Specifically, we’re seeking:

• Moderate to fast-paced stories with chapter-ending cliffhangers.
• Proven category tropes including, but not limited to, enemies to lovers, exes of friends, marriages of convenience, etc.
• Stories featuring heroines and the strong alpha males who court them.
• Romance must be the central plot. The couple should be together on almost every page.
• Supreme conflict. Why do family and friends condemn relationships they don’t approve of? Explore the banishment couples face when they sacrifice so-called family/friends for love and how their true love atoned for perceived slights.
• POV should be split 50/50 between the hero and heroine. 3rd person POV is preferred. No secondary characters should have their own POV.
• The heat level should be anywhere from a blazing to atomic.
• Manuscripts are preferred at 45-60K words in length, but novellas of 15-40K words are accepted at this time.

Romances experienced while the heart is young can be blinding, chaotic, and explosive. The heart and mind learn differently from single experiences that shape humanity as we know it.

Simple, complicated, destined, powerful.

Specifically, we’re seeking:

• Moderately paced stories with chapter-ending cliffhangers **FOR YOUNG ADULTS ONLY**
• Age: 15 to 19
• Proven category tropes including, but not limited to, destiny, “good look”, self-exploration, narcissist vs empath, rebounds, etc.
• Stories featuring heroines and the everyday, young men who court them.
• Romance must be the central plot. The couple should be together on almost every page. No sexually explicit scenes.
